Situated 3.2 miles from the main house, the partly collapsed structure may have served a now demolished building. Entrance shows various door-hinge holes, and leads to an arched passage which leads inwards before turning at a right angle. Remains of a ruinous decorative archway inside. An oval structure (1.5-2.1m), perhaps a Victorian folly, was found inside the icehouse. Depth uncertain, but known to exceed 5.5m. Brickwork is good quality. A large duckpond the source of ice. (1)
The ice house lies in a former chalk pit (2).
