TQ 677508. A small palaeolithic hand-axe of Middle Acheulian type was picked up by Mr.R.G.Cutting in Hale Park Wood, Nettlestead. (1) This was a casual find made by Mr. Cutting while out walking. The approximate find-site as marked by Mr. Cutting on Maidstone Museum 6" is woodland and was not confirmed on the ground as Mr. Cutting lives in Hythe. (2)
