Summary: | In September 2001 three small trenches were dug on the the proposed site of a new music school. Found were the remains of the courtyard surfaces of the Archbishop's Palace which stood on tis site and a large quantity of medieval pottery the majority dating between the 13th and 14th century. Roman demolision debris was also found suggesting that at a lower level Anglo-Saxon and Roman archaeological sequences survive in good condition. |
