Second World War anti tank obstacles and obstructions are visible on aerial photographs at the end of canal sluice at the easterly end of Dymchurch. The probable anti tank cubes or cylinders formed defensive obstacles, along with barbed wire obstructions, which surrounded the sluice to the west and east. A roadblock is also visible in front of the sluice. The anti tank obstacles and obstructions were subsequently removed after the war.

Second World War anti tank obstacles and obstructions are visible on aerial photographs at the end of canal sluice at the easterly end of Dymchurch (TR 1275 3195). The probable anti tank cylinders formed five rows of defensive obstacles at TR 1275 3195 and three rows at TR1276 3192. The barbed wire obstructions, which surrounded the sluice extend to TR 1270 3188 in the west and TR 1282 3202 in the east. A roadblock is also visible in front of the sluice comprising three anti tank cubes on the north side and two on the south side of the Dymchurch road. (1-2)
