Summary

A linear Second World War anti tank ditch is visible on aerial photographs taken in 1945-1946. The ditch is located to the west of Hythe, and extends north from the Sewage Works at Range Road to The Green recreation ground. The anti tank ditch measures about 810metres in length and was filled in and levelled after the war, though the northern part is still visible as a parchmark (cropmark) within The Green on recent aerial photographs taken in 2007.

A linear Second World War anti tank ditch is visible on aerial photographs taken in 1945-1946 and has been mapped as part of the South East Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey NMP. The ditch is located to the west of Hythe, and extends north from the Sewage Works at Range Road (TR 1556 3389) to The Green recreation ground (TR 1567 3459). The anti tank ditch measures about 810metres in length and was filled in and levelled after the war, though the northern part is still visible as a parchmark (cropmark) within The Green on recent aerial photographs taken in 2007.
