A group of Second World War anti tank obstructions are visible as structures on aerial photographs taken in 1942, though they have been removed on aerial photographs taken in 1945. The obstructions comprises an area of possible `hedgehogs' or `pimples' and nine roadblocks. There are also three definite and one possible pill boxes in Folkestone harbour, but these have been recorded separately (1428590, 1428594, 1428593, 1424657). This site has been mapped from aerial photographs as part of the South East Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey NMP (Component 2).

An area of hedgehog┬┐ type constructed from girders welded in an X shape, or possibly `pimples┬┐ obstructions extends between TR 2340 3576 and TR 2333 3578.

The site comprises three lines of barbed wire, a line on anti tank cubes and two fields of smaller anti tank obstacles, possibly `hedgehog┬┐ or `pimple┬┐ types.

The site comprises four anti tank cylinders which block the railway line across the harbour.

The site comprises three anti tank cylinders which block the harbour wall, and two probable lines of barbed wire which extend along the quayside on the northern side of the harbour (1-2).
