A Second World War trench is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs within the sandy dunes of the Hythe Firing Ranges (Monument Number 1531850) opposite Pennypot at TR 1476 13387 and has been mapped as part of the South East Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment NMP. The short v-shaped trench system measures no more than 32meters in length. The trench was subsequently levelled after the war. (1)
