Summary
A small circular enclosure and a short bank are visible as earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs. The enclosure measures 12m in diameter and is defined by a ditch. The bank lies 7m north of the enclosure; it is aligned c.W-E and a total length of 30m is visible. The function of the enclosure and bank is unclear but they are likely to be agricultural in origin and medieval or post-medieval in date. Examination of modern aerial photographs indicates that they still exist as earthworks.

A small circular enclosure and a short bank are visible as earthworks on 1940s RAF vertical aerial photographs [1]. The enclosure measures 12m in diameter and is defined by a ditch; no gap or entrance is visible through the ditch. The bank lies 7m north of the enclosure. It is aligned c.W-E, is c.5m in wide and a total length of 30m is visible. The function of the enclosure and bank is unclear but they are likely to be agricultural in origin and medieval or post-medieval in date. A similar, but larger, circular enclosure of probable similar date (MWX43332) lies north of the River Stour, see Related Monuments, it is possible that it also had a similar function. Examination of modern aerial photographs indicates that these features still exist as earthworks [2].
A transcription of the features recorded from aerial photography exists within a GIS layer held by this HER [3].
