In situ briquetage, Late Iron Age / Romano-British, animal bone and burnt clay, indicative of possible salt manufacture. The deposit is comprised of successive layers of burnt clay and brown organic clay containing the artefacts. Erosion is reducing the exposed deposit leaving loose artefacts on the foreshore. Significantly, at least one circular feature was identified. The circular feature is a possible midden deposit containing briquetage and charcoal. (1)
