Two Palaeolithic handaxes from Wood's pit, Dartford Heath found pre 1912. One of them "a rough and much battered implement, Chelles type, from the false-bedded gravel" (1), presumed to be reworked and much older than the gravel. Also a roughly flaked implement, slightly abraded. Not in Dartford Museum (2). Wood's Pit identified as mineral extraction site KT 723 in 2003 survey (3).
