Summary

Slatters Yard Hotel. Excavations in 1950-51 showed that above ruins of Roman building was a Saxon occupation layer dating to just after the mid 5th century. There was no associated structure. In 1982 a small trench to the rear of Slatter's Hotel located part of a late Saxon cellar.

Slatters Yard Hotel. Excavations in 1950-51 showed that above ruins of Roman building was a Saxon occupation layer dating to just after the mid 5th century. There was no associated structure. In 1982 a small trench to the rear of Slatter's Hotel located part of a late Saxon cellar.
