In 1997/8 Canterbury Archaeological Trust carried out an evaluation and a watching brief on groundworks. Subsequent strip, map and sample excavation in the first half of 1998 found numerous features and a droveway crossing the site from north to south. The work was subsequently taken over by the Hertfordshire Archaeological Trust from late 1998 until early 1999. The final phase of work on the site was conducted by the Kent Archaeological Rescue Unit in 1999.

It appears that the site was occupied by a Late Bronze Age/Early Iron Age settlement with at least one roundhouse identified. A midden was located nearby and numerous pits were also found. A large volume of pottery of this date was recovered from numerous features, along with perforated ceramic slabs. Other finds included a whale vertebra. No further information. (1-5)
