C15 open hall-house with later alterations. It was dismantled in January 1968 & the timbers were transported to Singleton. Deterioration occured as the timbers were stored outside & the house wasn't re-erected.


Dendrochronology dating of two sets of timbers in storage following deconstruction. Not certain which refers to Little Winkhurst or Winkhurst Farm (TQ 44 NE 14). Date ranges of 1498-1508 and 1540-1550. (1)
