Beaker sherds and some flint artefacts/ implements were reportedly found by JPT Burchell north of Beechin Wood Cottages (1), about 1931, in an area centred at TQ 58057338. The find-spot is now quarried away (within 'Eastern Quarry') and the finds are held at the British Museum (2,3). The find-spot is included in the SRPP (4), but there is no reason to be confident that the flint finds are Palaeolithic rather than later prehistoric.
