Mentioned in Isle of Grain Historic Area Assessment conducted by English Heritage in 2014. Described as part of a group of farms close to the village of Grain. "By the 18th century, if not earlier, much of the farming was done by tennants for absent owners… In the 1840s only two properties, White House Farm and Whitehall Farm, were farmed by their owners" (3).
