TR 359 643 (centred) Romano-British remains. Site no 175. (1) TR 359 644 In 1876 a large amphora some 6 feet in circumference at its widest point with a capacity of 6 to 7 gallons of liquid, a glass bottle, a Samian patera and an urn containing calcined bones were discovered here. A number of Tibetan artefacts have also been picked up here over the years. (2)

Description from record TR 36 SW 8 :
A dolium, 6 feet in circumference at the bulge, containing a glass bottle, a Samian dish and an urn with calcined bones in it, was found at Cliff's End, near Pegwell, half way between Petley's House and the boundary stone of Minster parish. Exhibited 1877. (1) Investigation has failed to locate Petley's House or its site, or the boundary stone. (2)
