"Losenham: Part of a moat appears to remain on the west side of the site of the Carmelite priory". (TQ 82 NW 3) (1)

The moat remains comprise the waterfilled south east corner and the south arm which can be traced past the present house. Lossenham Manor predates the Priory, so the moat is probably connected with it, rather than the Priory. Published survey 25" correct. (2) TQ 840275 Lossenham, Newenden listed in the county checklist of moated sites in Kent - December 1979. (3)
