This brick built two storey workshop range is the former Bat factory building for the Dukes cricketing equipment factory. The building has seen extensive alteration, truncated at its southern end, with new doorways on the ground floor, enlarged first floor window openings and a roof of concrete tiles.
The English Heritage listing inspection of the neighbouring Ball factory building emphasises the local importance of the site and the effect it had on the development of the village (1).
