Roman pottery and a very fine Samian bowl were found, about three years ago (c.1907) when making a new road beyond West Studdle to the Dover to Richborough Roman Road. Information from C. Newington. (1) No further information concerning these finds was gained during field investigation. They are not held by Dover Museum, and the farmer at West Studdal knew nothing about them.
