Two Palaeolithic handaxes were found in bedded terrace gravel deposits in the south pit at Hoath, part of the East Blean gravel spread outcropping between 114.8 and 109 ft. OD (1-5). One was a large elongated ovate (sl. abraded), the other was a small sharply pointed form in fresh condition. Recorded in Roe's Gazetteer (6) and then in SRPP (7).
