Burial of a man found by soldiers digging trenches in July 1944, on the Barham Downs just off the main Dover road at Heden. No proper record made, and no archaeological material recovered, but Prof. A.J.E. Cove considered that the remains were those of a middle-aged male of Saxon stock. (1) Additional bibliography. (2)
