A double trefoil type denehole was discovered in 1935 at Hammill, near Eastry, by employees of the Hammill Brick Co. Ltd. during brickearth operations. Archibald mentions antler pick markings on the vaults of the bays but Jackson concludes that "there is nothing to justify the suggestion of a Neolithic date." (1) The denehole has been filled in. The approximate site was indicated by Mr. B. Hamlin, at TR29315544. (2)
