A Thames pick was found in the West Last Buoy area, 1.5 miles seawardsand NE of Herne Bay Pier. (1) On exhibition in Herne Bay Museum are seven Thames picks dredged up between 1.25 and 3.5 miles off the coast at Herne Bay. They are from 5to 9 inches in length. Two are on loan from a C.W. Welby. There are also several flint flakes from the same area. The finds have been, made over a number of years and no further information is known about them (2). Additional references (3-5).
