A chalk pit was sited on the south east side of Buckland Road to the south of Crixhall Rough (1).

Marked on the first edition of the Ordnance Survey as 'Old Chalk Pit'. Shown on the second to fourth editions also but no longer extant. Probably filled in in the second half of the 20th century.
