The following information was derived from 'workhouses.org' website and needs to be verified. Hollingbourne Union Workhouse was allegedly built in 1836. It is attested on an OS map of 1895. It is believed that the original building was demolished in the 1920s and after 1930 a private residence known as 'White Heath' was built on the site. The associated mortuary, built in 1895, is the only surviving building. [See MKE 42952 for the associated mortuary building]. There are associated records in the Centre for Kentish Studies and Canterbury Cathedral Archives.
