This roadblock controlled both Summer Hill and Mill Lane, straddling the point where the two roads fork. At this same point, the two roads crossed the Dover, Canterbury, Whitstable Stop Line, which, here, having diverged from the London, Chatham, and Dover Railway, comprised long anti-tank ditches. The road-block looks to have been fairly substantial, from immediate post-war aerial photographs, but it is hard to discern details. There looks to have been a pillbox (otherwise unrecorded?) half-way across the roadblock, in the fork of the road, although this seems an odd location. The line of the road block was continued by deep anti-tank ditches to either side. This was road block No. 20 in a list of permanent road blocks in the 43 Divisional area at the end of November 1940. All trace of this roadblock has been effaced by the construction of a dual-carriageway and roundabout. It is unlikely that anything remains under the tarmac, although secondary features may survive below-ground in the vicinity.
