Full description

If you do not understand anything on this page please contact us.

There was a roadblock on a track crossing the Dover, Canterbury, Whitstable Stop Line, which followed the eastern edge of Church Wood, locally. It was roadblock No. 6 in lists of such sites made at the end of 1940. It was clearly part of the stop-line defences. It is not clear whether any trace survives. It falls a little within the wood, and may have been in the line of a barrier composed of felled trees (see separate entry), which is known to have crossed the wood.
