From mid 1940, the London, Chatham, Dover Railway, which locally formed part of the Dover, Canterbury, Whitstable Stop Line, was strengthened as an anti-tank obstacle, west of Bekesbourne Station by digging an anti-tank ditch on the north side of the embankment. This may have been associated with the rail block near the west end of the Station.
