By late 1940, as part of the defences of the ‘X-Roads’ Nodal Point, at Barham (see separate entry), there was a roadblock on the Dover Road near the north-east corner of Broome Park. It was covered by a pillbox in the wooded edge of Denne Hill, just to the north.

By late 1940, as part of the defences of the ‘X-Roads’ Nodal Point, at Barham (see separate entry), there was a roadblock on the Dover Road near the north-east corner of Broome Park. It was covered by a pillbox in the wooded edge of Denne Hill, just to the north. This was roadblock No. 69 in a list of such structures made 2 December 1940
