This road block was established under a viaduct carrying the London, Chatham Dover Railway over Station Road, west of Adisham Station The railway here was part of the Dover, Canterbury, Whitstable Stop Line, and this was clearly part of the associated defences, preventing enemy vehicles from crossing the railway. This road block was assigned the number 87 in a list of such structures published 2 December 1940.
