Described in Isle of Grain Historic Area Assessment conducted by English Heritage in 2014 as one of a group of converted former military buildings "early-to-mid 20th century single-storey buildingsā¦ which appear to be remnants of the extensive military accommodation camp known as Bungalow Town", that collectively act as "another reminder of the once substantial military presence on Grain", and which "although modest in themselves, have interest through their military associations" (3).
