TQ 593517. A mesolithic macehead, found at Shipbourne in 1968 by Mr.B.J.Beeching of London, was presented to the Maidstone Museum (Acc.No.30.1968). (1) A mesolithic quartzite pebble-macehead with hour-glass perforation found 17.3.68 in Point Wood. The rough sketch map accompanying the gift to Maidstone Museum does little more than indicate the NW side of the wood (b). Mr Beeching who lives at 33 Carston Close, SE 12, was not contacted. (2) TQ 593517. One mesolithic pebble macehead with hour glass perforation from Shipbourne is in the Maidstone Museum. Information from J.J. Wymer. (3)
