Chipped flint celt, stained with iron oxide, 6" long, 3 1/2" wide. Found on shore near Minster, Sheppey. Presented by J. Copland, Esq., of Sheerness. [Collection dispersed, most going to Rochester Museum, where above find is now probably held.](1) The Payne collection has been dispersed to the British, Rochester and Maidstone Museums. Exact whereabouts of the axe not ascertained. (2). For context with other Neolithic finds see (4).
