2/186 1-2 Bunces Farm (formerly listed as 1-3 Bunces Farm 24.1.67 Cottages)
GV II
Wealden hall house, now 2 houses. C15 and 1980's. Timber framed and close studded with plaster infill and plain tiled roof. Four framed bays and screen passage, with projecting C20 wing. Entrance front: 2 storeys on plinth, with returned jettied end bays, that to left obscured by C20 wings,with arched bracing and flying wall plate on arched braces over hall bays. Hipped roof with stacks to centre right and projecting at end left and end right. Irregular fenestration; large 2 storey C17 canted bay window inserted into left hall bay, red brick on ground floor with 6 mullion and transom lights, close- studded on first floor with 6 mullion and transom lights; 2 wood casements each floor to right. Boarded door to centre left. Right return: largely the C20 wing(of re-used medieval timbers) with exposed dragon post and return jetty of wealden end bay, and large stone and brick projecting stack. Rear front is exposed close studding and arch braced. Interior: crown post roof.
