There is an alleged medieval village at Kenardington. Although listed as a deserted medieval village it is sugggested that virtually no deserted villages can be proved in Kent and that the list may largely represent isolated churches with no villages around them (see TQ 93 SE 2). The site is not listed in the Domesday book.
