Description from record TR 06 SE 3:
[TR 0525 6273] Graveney Court [NAT] (1) John Martyn, Judge of the Court of Common Pleas, took possession of the manor of Graveney in 1430. He built Graveney Court, which was themanor house. A century and a half later, it was sold to John Pordage of Rodmersham, and subsequently to the Blaxlands, who were identified with Graveney for many years. Graveney Court shows evidence of having been added to at various times, for the centre is plastered, with a gable over the door, while on one side is a brick-built wing and on the other side, weatherboarded additions. (2) Translation of a brass in the adjoining church of All Saints' (Kent 34NE 4) includes "Judge Martyn ..., died 1436 ... builder of the Court".The centre part of Graveney Court, name confirmed by owner, is jettiedover the ground floor, and is half-timbered with plaster covering. The north end has been refaced with brick but within the house, its timber frame appears to be not much later than that of the centre part. Much early brick is visible in the north end and at the rear. The south part of the house is a late weatherboarded addition. The roofs are tiled; the brick chimneys are originals or restored. The doors and windows are modern. The house, a private residence, is in good condition. GP/AO/59/189/5 from East. (3) Checked and correct. (4) Graveney Court, Grade II, Seasalter Road (west side). House c. 1420 and 18th century. (For full description see list.) (5) Formerly TR06SE3
