Summary

A Neolithic polished flint axe was found in 1901 on the foreshore near Slough Fort. It was a black flint marbled axe with green veins, with a very smooth surface. Last thought to be in Rochester Museum.

KAS were informed in 1902 of the 'discovery of a fine neolithic flint celt along the shore in front of Slough Fort, in the parish of Allhallows'. The tool was 71/4 inches in length by 3 inches in width, of a black flint marbled, and very smooth surface with green veins. Now in Rochester Museum (1). (2), (3), (4) - additional references.
