2. Most of the house is C19 or modern but the core is a mediaeval stone hall. Open roof with octagonal crown post and?truss intact. C16 panelling in parlour; and more panelling (possibly imported) in present dining room. Other imports and restorations include a fireplace with carved stone surround of circa 1600; and a C17 staircase with spiral twist balusters. From outside, the old hall part is of coursed rubble masonry with tiled roof. Freestone dressings to windows with long mullions and transoms, restored in C19. Probably C14 stone doorway with carved and moulded jambs and ogee arch. Listing NGR: TQ5173751249 (1)
