TQ 88065836 `U' shaped enclosure seen by A. Miles, Jan 1966. (1) A sub-rectangular enclosure is situated at TQ 88025834 upon level ground within a wood. Immediately to the SE are steep slopes to a valley. The work is three-sided, the NE side being absent, either destroyed or never constructed. The remaining sides comprise an earthen bank, 6.0m wide, 0.5m high, with an outer ditch, 3.0m wide, and up to 0.5m deep. The W corner is right-angled, the S corner rounded, the ends of the NW and SE sides fade out into the ground and are not cut off abruptly. The work is probably a Md pastoral enclosure. Surveyed at 1:2500 (2)
