Summary

Timbers found in c.1962 during clay extraction at what is now the site of a small lake. The submersed timbers were investigated by Greenwich Maritime Museum c.1980 and are now thought to be part of an old jetty.

[TQ 7224 7605] Possible ships timbers found around 1962 during clay extraction. Now small lake - timbers under water. Site investigated by Greenwich Maritime Museum. Verbal reports that divers worked therein 1980. The "timbers" are now thought to be part of an old jetty "1982". (1). Additional references (2,3) and site photographs (4,5).
