mounds at 73547742, 73577746, 73617733, 73687748, 73747745. (1)
The earthwork remains of a small oval mound, one of five described by the previous authority which were seen at approximately the locations given and mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project. They are probably all examples of 19th century or earlier stock refuge mounds constructed on low-lying pasture within the marshlands of the Hoo Peninsula and the margins of the Thames Estuary. These mounds have been referred to and identified in contemporary writings (Spurrell, 1885). These and adjacent mounds have now been recorded individually as have been individually NMR Monument records: 1532176, 1532185, 1532194 and 1532202. (2-3)
