1. 5273 CHARTHAM THE GREEN
Bedford House TR 1055 29/233 29.9.52.

2. C16 or earlier timber-framed building with plaster infilling, part of the ground floor rebuilt in painted brick, the first floor oversailing on a bressumer and brackets with curved braces. Two gables oversailing on brackets. Hipped tiled roof with C17 brick chimneystack. Four casement windows facing south-east and two windows facing north-east, traces of the original mullioned windows remain. Four-centred wooden doorways. Moulded dragon post. This was at one time an Inn and later the local poor-house.
