Summary

Acheulian handaxe was found on Strood Hill. It was discovered in a patch of gravelley hill wash banked up against the Thanet Sand ridge which crosses the Watling Street c.700 m from the Coach and Horses on Strood Hill. Now in Rochester Museum.

A handaxe now in Rochester Museum, was found by Master FGE Forsythe, some time before 1924. It was in a patch of gravelly hill wash banked up against the Thanet Sand ridge which crosses the Watling Street just above the 200 ft. contour, about 700 yds. from the Coach and Horses on Strood Hill (1).
