An ovate Palaeolithic handaxe was found in 1882, in gravel, at the Engineering School, Chatham by Prof, J.W. Judd, who gave it to J Evans (1)

. It is now held at the Ashmolean Museum, where seen by Roe (2), and site is listed in the Southern Rivers Palaeolithic Project (3, 4).
