18th, 19th and 20th century features associated with the walled garden at Mote House.

Mote House Walled Garden Survey to locate and phase, as accurately as possible, the various features within the Walled Garden, so that appropriate mitigation measures can be put in ahead of development of the site. The short report is to be viewed as a Appendix to the Desk Based Assessment of Mote House, Maidstone, Kent produced in July 2005. The report consists of photographs of the features in the garden, together with a description.(1)

In 2007 a trial trenching evaluation was carried out in the walled garden. 13 trial trenches were excavated that found extensive evidence of redeposition of clay and stone in an area of former quarrying. The redeposition probably took place in order to level the ground in preparation for the creation of the garden.(2)
