A Second World War anti-tank ditch indicated by aerial photographs.The ditch was part of an interrupted circuit enclosing Maidstone. This section ran between the railway and the River Len (1).

A 2010 archaeological evaluation excavated part of the anti-tank ditch (trench 2). It was up to 8 m wide and up to 1.6 m deep (2)
