Summary

Late Iron Age urns were reported as being found in 1939. Belgic cinerary urns including a pedestal urn, and Roman pottery sherds, and a fragment of box tile were found during the construction of A.R.P. trenches at Northborough County Primary School.

[TQ 7611 5699]. Late Iron Age Urns found A.D. 1939 [NAT] (1) In store in Maidstone Museum are 1st c. A.D. Belgic cinerary including a pedestal urn, Ro. sherds, including samian (form 45/2nd c. A.D.), and a fragment of box tile found in November 1939 during the construction of A.R.P. trenches at Northborough County Primary School. (No accession numbers). Mr. Bricknell, school caretaker, remembers the discovery and confirmed the O.S. siting. (2)
