[TQ 71354999] Bensted [GT] (Site of). (1) Bensted, now called Bensteddle, consists of a parcel of land with a ruined house on it. Bensted is mentioned in Domesday and the manor's descent, with Hunton, occurs regularly to the time of writing. (2) The site occurs on pasture land, somewhat uneven, but with no traceable remains of buildings showing in the turf. (3) Checked and correct. (4)
