[TQ 5323 4594] A Bloomery was situated in Leigh parish at Lat. 51 deg 11' 30" N. Long 0 deg 11' 35" E. The place names Cinderhill and Cinderhill Field refer. There is a very large pit to the east of the road in Penshurst Park and several small ones in the fields west of the road. Round one of these latter a certain amount of bloomery cinder is to be found. This was probably the working place.
