A moated site on the site of the old vicarage (sited from map at TQ 55074659), was probaly built as late as 1353. (1) TQ 550466. Old Vicarage, Leigh is listed in the county checklist of moated sites in Kent - December 1979. (2) The remains of the moat are visible on the first edition OS map.
